I believe Diet Coke made me ill. Does anyone know where I can get it tested for toxins?!
Answers: I opened a can of Diet Coke and it tasted like oil and burned going down my throat. I'm afraid that it's not just my case and that there could be many other out there. I got flu like symptoms and felt very lethargic. I have sense then stopped drinking soda all together. Coke wants the case and the unused portion for "study"? Should I have someone other than coke test the pop, in case something is really wrong with lots of cans of soda?
well you can't just go to a laboratory, for example, and say "please test this for toxins". They'd look at you funny. You need to know which toxins specifically, what specifications you were looking for, they would need specific samples, and all these other things. I doubt you could provide all the information you need.
If this actually happened, you would have gone to a hospital and they would have tested it.
Look in the yellow pages under "Laboratory".
Go take a piss test and a blood sample at your local doctor office
I would, cokes pretty good at cleaning old engine parts........... just thought i add that
Check your phone book for a chemical lab in the area. If there is a college or uni near by, you could take it to the science lab and see if the students are interested in doing some tests on it.
Save one for yourself, then send the rest back to Coke. Let them know you're doing that. If they find something wrong with it, they're supposed to let you know. If you're not satisfied with their answer, you can always have the can you saved tested.
If you actually did want to get the cans tested (out of your own money) by a laboratory, you would be obviously looking to sue.
Problem #1 - You didn't go to the hospital...you didn't die...you have no recourse
Problem #2 - If you did got to the hospital, they would have tested you, and the coke
Problem #3 - Coke probably hears "claims" from loonies such as yourself all the time about inferior products, they blew you off, so now you want a lab to test your self-tainted cans
I wouldn't bother overreacting that way.
Just because you didn't enjoy Diet Coke doesn't mean it has toxins.
If it did, they would have been found already and there would of been a huge recall on all Coke products.
