people who drink soda every day of their life has 80 percent more chance of getting bone degeneration diseases than people who drink water.

and those illnesses hurt like HELL when you grow older.

that should be enough to scare you.

and omg, i have a friend who's exactly like you. obSSESSED with coke. i can't stop her and i can't stop you. only you can help yourself. instead of soda, try drinking lots of COLD, ice cold water along with one piece of chocolate. then gradually get rid of the chocolate until you only drink water each day.

cut down slowly?

Just try to cut back... I am a big soda drinker too, and its hard. Also too, soda makes you gain weight.. !!

start drinking flavored water and gradually move to water. nothing else because the taste of something good will draw you back.

if not, enjoy your diabetes.

diet coke.....then one less per day, or alternate one day soda..one day gatorade or other juice type drink

drink water, juices, anything else more HEALTHY. your killing yourself...

Can you really not stop drinking soda? I think you can.

Anyway sodas aren't that bad for your health anyway, just keep it a can a day.

replace it with water. You could also try flavored water or juice.

Well, I guess you should try to you know like
Drink something else.
Try Fruit Punch, its as goood
Or Brisk ice tea :]

When I gave up Diet Coke, I started drinking LaCroix, which is just sparkling water, it comes in different flavors. The ingredients are carbonated water and natural flavors. That's it. So it's not bad for you. But it's carbonated, so you're getting your soda "fix". You don't have to get LaCroix, just get any sparkling water.

Its called willpower, and its hard. I just quit smoking with willpower. Decide that you must do it, and do it. Don't let anything stop you, and expect to feel less than perfect for a few days or even weeks.

load up on gatorade and bottled water and drink that only..you will probably end up getting bad headaches from not drinking soda but it shouldn't last to long! Good luck.

i was drinking coke cola about 4 times a day years ago. i went on a diet and lost about 45 lbs. i had to stop soda for the diet. its funny that i dont miss it at all because i stopped for so long. i dont even miss it.

during the diet i drank diet soda first for awhile and then i got tired of the diet taste and quit altogether. now if i drink straight cola i get sick. my body is not used to it.

Yes, this is a wise desicion to break the addiction.

You might not be aware that this addiction not only affects you but others around you. You could be putting emotional stress on your family and friends due to your uncontrolable habit. Your addiction could be harming your family too!

I wish you luck in trying to stop this terrible affliction.

try diet coke or diet soda

you say you do it because it helps you stay awake.
just take no dos. (caffeine pills)
It helps me alot in school.
I have ADHD and my doctor told me it was fine to take one before school everyday. It cancels out my hyperactiveness and makes me calm and really helps me pay attention in school.
it has the same amount of caffeine as 2 cups of coffee.

I went through this with Pepsi. Like you, I didn't drink coffee. I slowly cut down on it and kept other drinks around like Lemonade and Sprite. To also cut the sugar I made my own lemonade from lemon juice, splenda, and water. The Sprite is Sprite zero.
After a few days, it didn't effect me anymore. Just give it some time.

Find alternatives, or other drinks you like to replace soda

Force yourself to drink a 24 oz bottle of water first thing in the morning.

The more dehydrated you are....the more likely sodas will appeal to you.

figure out how much you drink in one day....cut that down a few cans.....do that for a few days, then cut down again by a can, etc etc.

replace your soda intake with water or juice or tea.

I am a slowly recovering soda junkie!
I started to gain a lot of weight after being off from work after surgery and I began to drink pepsi like a crazy person.I gained 20 lbs from it.What I did is I started to cut down to one can a day and replaced the other cans I would normally drink with flavor canned water. It has the fizzies, has flavor but none of the sugar or calories.I couldn't drink diet soda as I have an allergy to nutrasweet and various other sweetners. So this was the best way.I also found the more water you drink be it flavor water or plain, the better you feel and the more you flush your system of this nasty sugar, soda stuff.

You will begin to crave water after about 2 weeks of drinking it all the time.I finally got myself down to 1 can of soda a week.I can not tell you how much better I feel.

If I can do it you can.I drank anywhere from 4 -20 ounce bottles to 3,two liter bottles a day!

drink one less per day

Do it slowly....drink alot more water....also you can get something called coca cola syrup...in the medicine section for upset stomach nausia ....put about 2 tablespoons over ice and sip on it..it will help you...
