Ok to make a real tasty cappuccino you need to buy a Moka. (if you have a look on ebay at Moka, Bialetti moka express) you know what to look for. this is an italian coffee machine. it is in three parts. in the bottom you put the water, then in the middle ground coffee, srew the top on and put this on the gas hob on a low heat until the coffee spurts through. Then put your milk onto heat and using a hand held coffee frother to froth the milk. In the cup put your cofee then slowly shake the milk into the cup so all the froth comes out, or use a spoon and spoon it on. sprinkle some cocoa and your cappuccino is ready. Usually a ratio of half milk half coffee in cup but depends on how strong/weak you like it!

called Cappuccino. you'll need an espresso maker with a steamer unit. steam the milk until it's fluffy.

Capuccino. There are instant coffee mixes that replicate the flavor but a true Capuccino requires an espresso machine and a frother to froth milk.

A cappuccino requires an espresso machine, which is pretty expensive. I wouldn't recommend such an investment for a casual coffee drinker.

You might want to try cafe au lait as a substitute. Brew a strong cup of dark roast coffee, such as a french roast. Combine with a roughly equal amount of scalded milk. You can increase the coffee or milk to your preference. Be sure to scald the milk, but don't let it boil.

Try the following

The perfect home cappuccino
? coffee cup of water
2-3 level tbsp freshly ground coffee
1? coffee cups of skimmed milk
chocolate powder, to garnish

Method
1. Pour the water into the base of the stove-top espresso maker. Then pack the freshly ground coffee into the filter using the back of a spoon. The amount you use really depends on the strength of the coffee beans. Screw on the top and place on the hob over a medium heat.
2. While the espresso is brewing, heat the milk to just below boiling point. Skimmed milk is the best to use as it holds its froth for longer because of the lower fat content. Once the milk is hot, froth the milk. Place the milk in a large cafetière and pump the plunger 10-15 times until you have plenty of froth - approximately half froth and half milk.
3. Pour the espresso into warm cups, then, using a large spoon to hold back the froth, pour the milk into the cups. Top with the froth, leaving a visible brown rim around the edge for an authentic look. Sprinkle with the chocolate.
4. The best cappuccino should be one third espresso, one third milk and one third froth. You'll find the more you make them, the better they'll become.
