While in England several years ago we enjoyed a delcious hot drink. It was made from a white powder.?!

Question: The powder came in a jar that could be purchased at any supermarket. The drink was delicious and comforting and white. Does anyone know the name of it and where it may be purchased in Canada? Thanks!

Was it a kind of off-white colour? I guess it was probably Horlicks (or Ovaltine is pretty much the same thing) - a malt drink. They sell both at http://www.xpatshop.co.uk/ , although the delivery is usually way too high on sites like that to just order some Horlicks. I have no idea what sort of shops there are in Canada, so can't help you much there :P

Pictures of it here, so you can see if it's what it was:

I am guessing it was Almond. I would try the health food stores in the powdered drink section. Or try to order it online.
The asians have one really good one that is made from Tapioca, I have never seen it on a shelf . It is available in vietnamese grocery cafes.

Horlicks, its a malted powder, it is sold over your side but not as horlicks, memory fails me as to what it is called though

If as the other posters mentioned, it is Horlicks, then in Canada you may be able to find it any Indian or even Asian grocery stores.

I live in Michigan, and even though I have never actually bought Horlicks (that I can recall) I see it ALL the time in the Indian (India) grocery stores in this area.

If there are any Indian groceries where you live, you may be able to find Horlicks there, because like I said, I live in Michigan and I see it ALL the time in the Indian grocery stores here.

Good Luck!
