What makes Folger's coffee different than the "gourmet expensive stuff".?!

Question: it is always grouped with Maxwell house and the generic brands. Is there really a difference, or is it just packaging and marketing?

Folgers & Max House don't take as much care when roasting, grinding & placing their product in the container for selling purposes. To many twigs, leaves, bad beans make it in those consumer type coffees. The "expensive" stuff has more TLC applied to it! Mainly marketing & people following the herd like sheep (much like my viewpoints on religion...but that's another part of me!).

Personally I love Folgers. I believe it is 80% marketing, 10% a willing consumer that believes the marketing, and 10% good product. I can't stand the taste of starbucks and puke when people walk around showing off the $4 styrofoam cup in their hand!!!

it may seem it is better coffee but it is mostly all in our heads i think you should buy a coffee maker and make it yourselfe it is a great way to save money hope i helped:)

depends, if it comes from like hondouras, it is going to be more expensive because of quality, if it comes from a mainstream buisness, it will be less expensive because they will sell a lot more of it

It is marketing, I think. The store brands are just as good.
