Green tea is yummy (and full of antioxidants and fluoride), but it will not help you "shed pounds"!

The ONLY way to lose body mass is to burn more calories than you consume. Eat less. Exercise more.

go to the gym...

dance swim run walk jump

forget about 'magic tea'

I read somewhere that green tea can help to perk up your metabolism ever so slightly, but not enough to get excited about. Slimming tea is a bit of a scam. Most herbal slimming teas contain senna, which is a laxative, although sciencey people have shown that laxatives don't actually help weight loss, they just make you ill if you use them too often.

If you drink something with no calories in, like green tea, whenever you feel like snacking, you will snack less because the liquid fills you up a bit. So any type of green tea or herbal tea (or even black coffee with no sugar) will do, just find the one you like best. I think genmai-cha is really nice, it's got roasted brown rice in it so it has a slightly nutty taste.

I drank loads of green tea when I was in Japan, and I did lose a lot of weight, but I can't let the green tea take all the credit! The combination of low fat diet, no alcohol or chocolate, and walking everywhere probably helped :-)

try celestial seasonings authentic green tea. Just don't add a lot of milk and sugar in it.
