I'm with Epic on this one. When using the french press be sure & get your water boiling. If you have never used a french press you may find the taste "grittier" than you're used to. Make sure your coffee is more of a medium coarse grind as oppossed to a finer grind as that will "seep" through the filter in the press. SB's machines are set for a higher temp than yours brews at home...there are only a few out on the market that actually get water up to the temp required for proper brewing of coffee (195-205). Best of all on this!

Bunn is good, but had a recall of this bout 6-8 mths ago. Try a krups Moka Brew 8 Cup Coffeemaker. Makes great coffee. If you really want a fancy, good one try the Technivorm at http://sweetmarias.com/prod.te...
Hope this has helped. Report It

  • uhh.

    cause it's starbucks...

    the machines they have

they're trained to make coffee whereas you are just using the same ingredients and equipment, without actually having the required knowledge.

Machines/People actually master in making it

because you are brainwashed into believing that

    because they know the secret
which makes u spend more money

Becuz Everything Taste Better When Someone else makes it i personally thinkk. But starbucks they have these certain things they add to ur coffeeeee

anything we don't have to make ourselves usually tastes better if its just because we didn't have to do the work ourselves funny but i have noticed that with cooking too.

because if it wasnt then no one would go there. starbucks is amazing...leave it to the pros!!

if you used a french press, it might taste very similar to starbucks. Part of the problem might be the water temp in your coffee machine. The coffee machines in Starbucks usually brew the coffee near boiling water. The home ones don't get as high.

Everything tastes better when someone else makes it, just like a sandwich your mom makes.

    they add a secret ingredient.

Have you always had your beans ground at the Starbucks?
Because if you are grinding them at home, then it may be the wrong grind for your filters. Grinding may not seem like much, but it can make a big difference to the taste of your coffee.

Also, Epic is right on the temperature. Our water is never below 190 degrees. Plus it is also triple filtered...3 times makes a big difference compared to filtered once.

Yuck...Starbucks. They burn their beans. There is better coffee out there.

Mine is better than Starbucks; not that good at all
