What do all "Breakfast Blends" have in common....?!

Question: there are like so many different brands all claiming the perfect breakfast blend. (omg i just said "like")

anyhoo, do these blends often contain dark roasted, med roasted, or some kind of weird taste that they're after, maybe to taste good with eggs / toast / froot loops / corn flakes / etc.

some are good, but often times I say "ugh, another Breakfast Blend".

It's true, there is no uniformity from company to company when it comes to "Breakfast Blend" Each company will compile this blend based on their standards and what they want the blend to consist of.
I can only speak for Starbucks... their Breakfast Blend is not a bold blend at all, but rather a lively blend of Latin American coffees which turns out to be one of the Mildest blends that Starbucks carries.
You pretty much just have to try different coffees to see which roast and origin suites your particular tastes :D

bold?

Other than the name, not much. You're going to see variations because every company has their own "secret" blend, and name brand.

As for what you're going to find, you'll probably find a darker coffee, a bit stronger flavored...which does not necessarily equate to a higher caffeine content. The highest caffeine is actually found in a lighter roasted coffee bean, than a darker one.
So if you're looking for a nice strong-flavored coffee to compliment your breakfast foods (but not overpower it) then start experimenting. I personally prefer a French roast for the mornings.
