Do all blenders open anti clockwise, no directions and no signs with base of blender stuck?!

Question: As a rule yes - if you are having difficulty most likely the blender is askew on the base. Try this - Unplug the unit, gently push down and give a slight turn right then a sharp turn left - that should give you the leverage you need to release the blender. It may take a few trys but I have had fair success even at a friends house and work with this technique. If it is really stuck you can spray a little WD40 or liquid wrench to lubricate the tread but only as a last resort. Good Luck!

Usually yes, try running the part under hot water to see if it will loosen up a bit.

I'm not sure, but if you bought the blender already assembled and you can't seem to separate the base from the container, it was probably assembled incorrectly. The same thing happened to me when I bought a cheap blender from a grocery store and had to return it because the plastic had fused itself to the base from all of the tugging.
