Squeezing the soda bottle after opening to keep it fizzy.... what do you think?!

Question: My dad insists on squeezing the 2 liter coke bottles after theyre open, to keep the carbonation in,

but I insist that if you leave the air in the carbonation will stay in better....

cause if you squeeze it then the bottle expands back with the carbonation,, if you dont squeeze it has nowhere to go,

whats your vote?

to squeeze or not to squeeze? :)

You are right and your dad is wrong. ;)

i vote to squeeze i do it all the time it really does work

not squeeze. Cuz then you get a funny looking bottle if you squeeze.

I say, if it makes him happy to squeeze the bottle, then squeeze away Daddio ! LOL

you are right. keeping the carbonization in the soda depends on creating pressure within the bottle. if anything, you should be putting air into the bottle, not squeezing it out of it, if you want keep your soda fizzy

I think if you sqeeze the bottle it works because it lets the air out then it is sucking air when the cap is on creating pressure. But you have to put it in the fridge it can't be left out.
