Did I embarass myself at starbucks?!

Question: I had no idea of the Starbucks universal closing, so I went there to get my daily dose of my Mocha Drink. Well it was only 6:30 pm and the doors were locked...I knew they were open, so I peered in and saw a huge group of employees talking. I knocked on the glass door, waving hello, and holding an imaginery mug of coffee and drinking it. Well, they all looked over and started pointing at me. WTF did i do? And I figured, the dining room was closed, so I went through the drive through. Hello?? Hello??? Anyone there????? nothing. I go back to the glass door, and by this time, i"m furious. Knocking very angrily, they started pointing again. I look behind me to see if they're pointing at someting else. Nope, it's me. Finally, someone comes and points at the little piece of paper that said "Closed until 9pm for Barista Training". I guess they were pointing at the sign. I felt so stupid.

Don't feel stupid or alone because there were lots of people that did the same thing. I would have been there also but I read about the closing on the internet. Starbucks should have posted a large sign in several places a few days before they were going to close.

I guess you did!

not really its only a mistake anyone could have thought they were open!

No, we all get into similarly awkward situations because of something we didn't know. It'll probably be something you remember every now and then and cringe. Could be worse, at least you didn't sh*t yourself, or make a very revealing Freudian slip!

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
um . . . no...??? lol!

No you didn't embarass yourself...you didn't know lol

I hate to say it but yea you did. Thanks for the laugh though. Hagd

Yeah, if the doors are closed then look for a sign! Next time, find another starbux!! Be careful with wut u do!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think they had quite a few people who did the same thing - they all closed for 3 hours on Tuesday and got quite a bit of press about it. Some people just miss the news, etc....

You didn't embarass yourself! I know alot of SBux locations had free coffee out in front near the doors, others gave out free drink coupons - so there were LOTS of people who did what you did!

Stop today and tell them you were the guy at the door - maybe they'll treat you to a free one!

Hey dude its ok, its nothing. I have made far worse mistakes as have others.

i would be embarassed to be a starbuck patron, so i don't know... i try to seriously avoid walmart, starbucks and the likes.

Another caffeine junkie banging on the doors of Starbucks for that sweet fix!

You and about ten thousand other people were probably doing the same thing at the same time LOL.
And from what I heard, the memo they got said the time was for , get this, ( now you will be really mad,) "appreciating and discussing the attributes of coffee" or some such nonsense...which basically sounded like an extended coffee break,,,not RE-TRAINING, or they all would have been busy making the perfect MOCHA Drink for you to get the next day!

yeah....i love when people get sooo pissed about coffee. Some lady actually yelled at me for being closed and that the sign was too small....so I put a HUGE sign on the door and still people were pulling on the door and walking to the other door and getting all pissed....we had to ignore them eventually because we had to do this training that lasted 3 hours. If you are still mad talk to one of your regular baristas and they just might give you your mocha on the house next time.. :) They didn't want to embarrass you....they should make up for it.
