What is the best way to keep ground coffee fresh? And the same for coffee beans?!

I have heard either the fridge or freezer....

I keep the coffee and the beans in the freezer right next to the coffee maker and grinder.

My daughter who only makes coffee when I am in her house keeps all the coffee in the fridge.

My dad puts them in the freezer. You don't have to thaugh them out, though. You can put them right into the machine!

In a freezer bag with rice gains [just a few to absorb the moisture].
