When making filtered coffee, Do I filter the coffee after waiting for 5 mins or before the 5 mins?!
Answers: like i mean once ive put the ground coffee in the filter thingy with the boilling water. do i pull the filter through straight away or do i wait for 5 mins.
You wait. You want the grinds to soak in the water and then push the filter through.
Doesn't matter.
Unless you're talking about a french press. Then you wait.
You want to pull it out soon. Too much exposure to water causes what is called "over extraction".
In coffee, over-extraction results in bitter, muddy tasting coffee due to the "bad" chemicals leaching out of the coffee particles.
