Is it really true that tea has more caffeine than coffee?!

Question: No.

Tea has more caffeine PER UNIT than coffee... all that means is that 10 lbs of tea has more caffeine than 10 lbs of coffee. But that is only because tea leaves are so light-weight that it takes thousands more tea leaves to add up to 10 lbs than it would for ground coffee beans.

So... 10 lbs of tea has more caffeine then 10 lbs of coffee (because you need more tea to make up the 10 lbs).

But....one cup of tea has only about 1/3 the caffeine of 1 cup of brewed coffee and 1/2 the caffeine of 1 cup of instant coffee.

The caffeine content of a cup of tea is usually less than 60 mg, but a strong cup of tea may contain more caffeine than a weak cup of regular coffee. Herbal infusions dont contain caffeine at all.
