Acesulfame Potassium in Diet Coke with Splenda?!

Question: Do you know about acesulfame potassium in association with Splenda?
I need to lose weight and I have switched to Diet Coke with Splenda (I cannot tolerate aspartame - that's the ingredient in regular Diet Coke).

Anyway, there is also one ingredient besides Splenda that is called acesulfame potassium. Does anybody know whether it is bad for your health or any chemical information about it?
Links would be appreciated.

It's an artificial sweetener. Been around for years. It's probably used to roundout the sweet taste of the sucrolose. I don't think it will hurt you.
