vita mix
u can buy it online
it is awesome
it will make soups - smoothies - sauces

The good old blender works the best and is good for other things.

Personally I like the hand held immersion blenders. Black and Decker make one and Hamilton Beach makes a nice inexpensive immersion blender. The better the quality the better it will work. You might pay more for a good one, but it will last 5 times as long as those cheap KMart blenders.

I have worked in several restaurants, in which we use blenders everyday to make soups, sauces, oils, dressings, etc...Vita-Mix are the most common. They're incredibly endurable and easy to use.
I laugh when I see blenders in the store with 20 buttons across the control panel - "puree," "blend," "crush," "mix"...they all do the same thing, so don't waste your money on something dumb like that. Vita-Mix has two controls - one to turn it on or off, and one to set it at low or high speed.

I've had my magic bullet for 2 and a half years now and I continually use it for smoothys. Typically about 3 times a week I'm whipping up a smoothy out of that thing.

magic bullet. As long as you're using fresh food and not frozen, it works awesome! But when I use frozen fruit, I let it thaw for and it has the consistency of ice cream its SOOO good.
