Why is my water brewing tea so fast?!

Question: We just moved out to well water/soft water, and I just brewed tea that literally turned dark in seconds....VERY quickly. Why is that?

Fewer impurities in the water might make the tea brew faster. I'm guessing here but that sounds reasonable.

I'm also guessing that you came from a place where you had city water? The water you get from the city is full of chemicals to kill bacteria and other baddies. Your well water is actually purer than what you are probably used to. The only problem I've ever had from a well was too much sulfer which makes the water smell like rotten eggs. That smell will pass if you run the tap for a few seconds before filling your cup. But if you have a good filter that won't be a problem.

it might have something to do with your new water. If it is on a softener, that could potentially make tea brew faster. it could also be the temp of your water, if anything has changed. I dont have any experience with well water, so i don't know.
