What's the difference between coca cola diet and coca cola zero?!
There's reason to believe that Acesulfame Potassium might take over as the dominant sweetener in diet sodas. However, Coke and Pepsi don't want to yank their current sweetener (aspartame) out of their diet soda, because it might cause a public relations nightmare if people don't like it. Instead, Coke and Pepsi are selling Coke Zero and Pepsi One to sort of test it out, because they can afford to offer it alongside their diet line.
Answers: Coca-Cola Zero (and Pepsi One) were created after a newer artificial sweetener called "Acesulfame Potassium" was approved by the FDA.

um...I believe Paul's answer is better than mine. You should probably give him "Best Answer" so he can get 10 points - I mean, really, you're not going to do any better than that...
