Are you addicted to coffee or were you?!

I was and ended up in the hospital. I was drinking about 20 cups a day. It's the worst thing you can drink.
If your a one or 2 cup a day drinker, then I would say its fine. Still people think thats its a pick-me-up and it is ( for about 15 minutes) then you become tired again and need another cup!
Caffeine is not a good drug. Parents should keep their kids away from caffeinated beverages also and to much chocolate. I still love it though, but I don't touch the stuff.

I'm addicted to tea. :] which I personally think is much more healthy than coffee, i have about 3+ mugs of tea a day. . So i don't think about coffee.

I love coffee and will never give it up willingly. I happen to believe that it can't be too bad for you although some will argue that it is not a healthy habit. However, I also believe in moderation and too much of anything is not good. I keep my servings from one to two cups a day.

I personally don't drink coffee very often. I have a coffee pot at home, but use it only about 2 or 3 days a month... And I keep a bag of Millstone chocolate velvet coffee & millstone caramel truffel coffee... those are the only two types of coffee I will drink (so far anyway... I like to buy the tiny bags to try out new flavors). Anyway I drink tea EVERYDAY though... That is what I'm addicted to.. yum! =)

also about the health issue: I read a cup or two a day is actually healthy for you and can reduce your chance of getting parkinson's disease (according to the April 08 issue of Shape)/.

I am, I love Kona and would drink it everyday if I could afford it.

The only bad thing to me is coffee can stain your teeth and make you need to pee a lot if you drink too much of it. There are some wonderful coffees, addiction is so easy :)

If in excess it can be bad. I have a coffee/caffeine habit. I love it. I am a caffeine advocate and i work in health-care/nutrition. I just don't feel in moderation it is as bad as what they used to say. but in excess anything can be harmful. I do not think kids should have caffeine. and they put it in everything now. every time you turn around there is a new "energy" product on the market. I saw a snickers bar with added caffeine in it the other day. I think kids/young adults are drinking/eating too much caffeine today. too much caffeine does have bad side effects. (IE hyperactivity,heart rate changes, interference with certain nutrient absorption, GI distress) but the equivalent to 4cups (6oz cups) of coffee everyday is fine and for most people not a problem. I would strongly caution anymore than that . (although I exceed that often )

I drink alot of coffee every day, and most of it is expresso ... although expresso actually has less caffeine that regular coffee, since it's double roasted. I've heard all the stories about it being bad for you, yet I recently saw a news report on a survey saying that 4+ cups per day will help prevent uterine cancer in women. So, you can find a survey to support whatever you want:) ...... btw: tea has more caffeine than coffee; as does coke & chocolate
