If milk says sell by 3/11/08 does that mean its bad when its 3/17/08?!

Question: No. The sell by date is when the store has to sell it by and if they don't they have to get rid of it. You still have time after the sell by date before it spoils.

I thought it meant it was bad by 3/11?

yes u can get a stomach ache and go to the hospital

As long as there are no science experiments growing, it seems safe to me. Drink Up.

Just check the Use-by-date, you should not consume any food exceeding the use by date. Sell by dates are intended to help keep track of the stock in stores. Food that has passed its sell by or display until date, but is still within its use by / best before will still be edible, assuming it has been stored correctly. It is common practice in large stores to throw away such food, as it makes the stock control process easier. It also reduces the risk of customers buying food without looking at the date, only to find out the next day that they cannot use it.

Smell it if it smells bad dont drink it

IF IT DOESN'T SMELL OR TASTE SOUR IT IS OK.
