I drink FAR TOO much..What's my problem?!
Literally gallons of water, tea, milk, and juices are gone by the end of the day.
I have to go almost shopping everyday because of it.
At a restraunt I will drink so much before the meal that I physically can't eat my meal when it arrives.
Most of the time my family or friends will tell the waiter to not bring my drink until the meal arrives to avoid this from happening.
I've been this way since I was 4/5 years old.
I don't drink sodas so I'm not addicted to caffeine. And the fruit juices are where I get a majority of my natural sugar from.
Why am I like this? Should I be concerned?
Answers: It seems like I'm ALWAYS thirsty...even while I'm drinking!

Why am I like this? Should I be concerned?
After working out or spending time in the hot sun, it's normal to be thirsty. If you eat salty or spicy foods, your thirst may seem unquenchable. But what about when you're unusually thirsty - when no matter how much you drink, it's just not enough? Should you be worried?
Common causes
Some common causes for extreme thirst - or polydipsia - are:
Water and salt loss. This may be from sweating, diarrhea, vomiting or lack of water.
Certain medications.
Too much alcohol, caffeine or salt.
Possible medical conditions
Your thirst may be a sign of something more serious. You could have one of many conditions, including the following:
Hyperglycemia (high blood sugar)
Diabetes
Diabetes insipidus (an imbalance in the body's water level)
A kidney disorder (such as Fanconi's syndrome)
Dehydration
Liver disease (such as hepatitis or cirrhosis)
A bleeding disorder (such as intestinal bleeding)
Burns or an infection
A head injury
A psychological disorder (Schizophrenia or obsessive compulsive disorder may cause compulsive water drinking.)
Medications
Certain drugs can make you thirsty. These include:
Diuretics. Used to treat high blood pressure, diabetes and heart failure. Also used for swelling and diabetes insipidus. They help increase urination and decrease body fluids.
Demeclocycline. Treats bacterial infections and lowers sodium levels.
Lithium. Treats bipolar disorder and other mental health problems.
Phenothiazines. Used to treat schizophrenia and other mental health problems.

your description disappointed me...i thought you were talking about booze
boring!!....
Not too worry you but I would aask your doctor. It could really be anything but this is a common symptom of diabetes. Please don't take my word for it but its worth getting it looked at.
if this has been a problem for a long time, then i don't think you have to worry about this...but drinking excessively like that can be a sign of type one diabetes
maybe you should see a doctor?
Maybe you are addicted to the sugars in the fruit juice. Sugar can be a powerful addiction. Try cutting back? Just one idea to try...
I believe you should seek medical advice, this question should be handled that way,not in a forum such as this
Maybe you should see a doctor. Could be diabetes.
Diabetes?
Major thirst is a sign of diabetes, but as you've had this for a long time, it probably isn't...
No offense but u might have diabetes's but I know really dont k, but thats probably it sorry
i say it is diabetes you should probably see a doctor
do a blood test
I have no idea. Go with your doctor
hmmm.... i would ask a doctor... maybe look it up on webMD
I have a few questions for you:
Do you urinate a lot?
Are always tired? more than usual.
Drastic weight loss?
I'm not trying to scare you but you should see a doctor just to check this out. It could be diabetes. The only thing is that you said that this has been a problem for you since you were young so it might not be it. I am 13 and I found out I had type 2 diabetes when I was 11. I had keytones and an extremely high blood sugar. Now I am getting it under control and on oral medication. My life is just as it was before it now just has a slight twist. It could be other things but that's beyond the point, you should see your doctor- don't be scared.
darn i thought you were talking about booze!
barnicles!

It's very possible you have diabetes. Excessive thrist is just one sign of it. Other symptoms could i(but do not have to include) unexplained weight loss, frequent urination (which you've probably got due to frequent thirst), frequent hunger, headaches, and occasionally dizziness.
Get an appt w/ an internist ASAP. Go in fasting (don't eat or drink anything but water!) for 12 hours prior b/c they will do bloodwork. Diabetes is very serious and ignoring it will not make it go away.
It is really good for you to be that way.
