How do I measure water in your American way?!

Question: I have a packet of powder here which is an energy drink. It says mix with 8 oz of water. It's from America, and I'm from England. In England we measure in ml. How do i measure this, Do you use a jug with a scale on it, or do you actually weight the water on the weighing scales?!?!

On our measuring cups, 1 cup equals 8 liquid ounces. so we measure either by cups, or yes, you could weigh it on scale, but not commonly. 4 cups equals 1 liter. As far as I can recall, 8 ounces equals 250 ml.

That would be 8 fluid oz. measured in a measuring cup, not weighed on a scale. Our bottles of water often hold 8 oz, so we just fill that and add the powder.

If I could convert ml to oz I would help you, but I'm sure someone will know what to tell you!!!

A cup is equal to 8 fluid ounces, but that is a measuring cup, not a "coffee mug". 250 ml, or 1/4 liter is equal to 1 cup or 8 fluid ounces. Using a weight scale will not help.

8 ounces is equal to about 236.6 mL.

We measure liquids in fluid ounces which are equal to about 29.5 mL.
