Starbucks: is it a real coffee or a kind of milkshake?!

Question: How did they spread their franchise so quickly?
Do you prefer another Italian coffee brands like Illy, Segafreddo or Lavazza?

I've tried Illy and Lavazza beans for my espresso machine, but personally like Double French Roast beans from California Coffee Roasters (on-line). Starbuck's Komodo Dragon beans are very good too ...... They have "real" coffee drinks AND tea drinks, and frappucinos without tea or coffee, in addition to hot chocolate & spiced cider. ... It's another of life's mysteries why 2 (or more) things start at the same time and 1 becomes a hit, and the other goes by the wayside. I liked Diedrich's better than Starbuck's, when they both first opened...but where is Diedrich's now? Just like when Beta and VCR came out....why did VCR become popular and Beta died away?.... I think that marketing has alot to do with it...

STAR BUCKS ROCKS! I don't prefer anything over it! Its definitely coffee!

The celebities were seen going to Starbucks and everyone else joined.
No, but that may be part of the reason. They are actually a pretty decent coffee shop. I personally don't go there because I like the local coffeeshops better.
It is convenient that Strabucks is EVERYWHERE though.

i love starbucks...its coffee alrie. but something you can get without coffee. like Frap's

Starbucks uses coffee in their coffee drinks. I am not crazy about Starbucks, I prefer small coffee shops, they do not taste manufactured like Starbucks. I don't know why but Starbucks doesn't taste as good to me.

I have never tried any of the Coffees you have mentioned though.
