Coffee gives jitters. Espresso doesn't seem to?!

Question: Was wondering if anyone could explain why one cup of coffee can make me a bit jittery but if I have a 20 oz latte with two shots of espresso it just makes me feel alert? Can't figure this one out. Anybody get this effect or know why someone would?
