talk to the person who owns it and tell them not to. i dont think they should be able to buy them because it affects your heart. im a kid and i never tried one and i dont plan on it either
No it should not be illegal. BUT I think you should forbid your child from buying them. If he/she does anyway it's not the stores fault. Punish your child for buying them if he/she still decides to do so after you forbid it.
it is not the stores fault.. you are the parent and if you set rules then your kids need to follow it. Why punish the stores when they have a right to sell it. It is not their fault kids don't listen to their parents and still buy it and they shouldn't suffer for lack of parenting skills. Now, if they were selling the ones with alcohol then I am on your side and we gotta big problem.
so, blame your kids, not other people.
If it is a smaller store with just a few employees, you could try writing a letter to the manager telling them you don't want your children having these. If you are a frequent shopper there they would want to comply to get you to continue your patronage.
There really isn't a way to enforce it, though, especially if it's a bigger store with lots of employees.... they really would have a hard time letting each employee know that just your children arent' allowed to have them.
Personally I don't think it should be illegal... I do let my older teenagers enjoy these, just not my younger kids.
First of all, no I don't think it should be illegal. I resent giving up my right to buy energy drinks because some parents don't want their kids drinking them. It's suggestions like this that add fuel to the grievances of the childless against parents.
I would ask myself if this was an issue I wanted to haul out the heavy guns for e.g. restricting access to money, monitoring the activities of the child, etc. How old is the child? What damage do you think is being done by these drinks?
Educate yourself as to the consequences of your decision either way, and decide to take action based on that. The answers are far different for a 5 year old who steals money from your purse, drinks several of these a day, and then screams all night than for a 16 year old who is forced to get up at the crack of dawn, is using money she earned to buy something to get her through the day in lieu of sleep, and has both teeth and blood pressure within good ranges.
You are responsible for your child and the purchases they make. You must deal with your child. If you can't prevent your child from buying something you don't want them to buy, then you need to reevaluate your parenting. How will you prevent them from doing even more dangerous things in the future?
