Can I use pineapple juice instead of frozen pineapple juice concentrate?!

Question: I wanted to make a pina coloda but I only have canned pineapple juice and the recipe I'm following says to use frozen pineapple juice concentrate...will that work? And if it will, how much of the canned pineapple juice do I use...the recipe says to use 1 can of the frozen stuff...

Thanks in advance! =D

You can easily use the canned stuff, you'll just have to add some more sugar. A concentrate would be ideal, but canned stuff works. I've done it before. In your recipie, it should say next to 'one can', how many ounces you need. Add the same amount of pineapple juice, and add about 3-5 tablespoons of sugar. Hope this helped!

The frozen concentrate gives it the proper texture (it will taste the same if you use juice but be runnier)

i would use what it sais on the mix or what ever it is that it came in

Go ahead and use the juice. It won't have as strong of a pineapple taste and it won't be slushy. Does it say what size can? Use the same amount of the canned juice. If it doesn't specify- use one cup of the juice and see how it tastes before adding more. After you have it just right- put in a plastic contained and stick in the fridge- after a couple of hours- it will freeze up like a slushy- it won't turn to ice because of the alcohol. If you're in a hurry- put it in several plastic containers.
