Root beer..?!

Answers: I recently went to Boston, MA in USA and fell in love with root beer. I've heard there are lots of makes of it so I'm looking for the one in the dark brown bottle. Please can someone tell me the make? I live in the UK, is it possible to get it delivered?

Unfortunately, most root beers that are bottled are sold in brown bottles - so the name would be hard to guess. If you got it at a regular grocery store, then it is most likely IBC or Stewarts. It might be A&W or another national brand, but I rarely see those in bottles in the stores - they are usually in cans. Mug root beer and Dad's are usually in clear glass bottles, but they are mainly a Midwest (Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin) brand.
Also, many microbreweries will make a root beer version, so it might have been one from a microbrew in the Boston area.
For a start, I would try looking in the soda aisle in your grocery store - Coca Cola markets a brand called Barq's and you will find A&W with the Seven-Up products.
I was able to find a listing of some brands available in the UK (http://rootbeerbarrel.com/availability/s... but I don't know if you will be able to find them where you are. I hope this list helps you some.
Take a look at the website below, and maybe you can find an image of the bottle, so you will at least know the brand. These places seem to ship internationally, so you might be able to order some.

You got to try a root bear float man! Go to a local resturante and ask for a rootbeer float. It is so sooo good! Also there is a rootbear form of a shirley temple. Forget the name.
However, I think the second person is right with the A&W rootbear. But, you may come across a brand that is even better so keep your eyes open (;
