What's better for you - green tea or decaffeinated regular tea?!

Question: I am trying to cut down on caffeine but wondering if the anti oxidant benefits of green tea outweigh the fact that it contains some caffeine?

here is how you can make your green tea almost caffeine free: brew a cup and dump it out, now reuse that tea bag and make a cup to drink. Most of the caffeine is released in the beginning or steeping, leaving not much left for your second brewed cup. This works with all tea

Green has a lower caffeine content than ordinary tea but still has caffeine, you are better off with decaf. I've tried both and green is not as good a taste either

I was told in Japan that green tea was consumed by monks to help them stay awake during meditation - which suggests that decaff would be better if you want to reduce your caffeine intake. You can get antioxidants from caffeine free sources, can't you?

Green tea is better for you than regular de-caffinated tea. With de-caffinated tea, the fact that it doent have caffine is its only benefit, but with green tea i think that its benefits by far outweigh the small amount of caffine it has. Its full of antioxidants and vitamins, and there has been scientific evidence to show that people who drink green tea regularly live a longer, healthier life! Green tea is also a refreshing, delicious drink! A small amount of caffine isnt unhealthy, but maybe if you want to cut it out compleatly try green mate tea, which has a similar taste to green tea, even more nuticional benefits and its caffine free. Or a fruit tea, like nettle, detox, camomille, black currant and many more, they are caffine free and have lots of nutricional benefits!
hope this helped!

probably green tea for the antioxidants.
decaffinated black tea tastes like cr@p

Well.. the thing with decaffeinated drinks is that sometimes they use chemicals in the process. Although in theory there shouldn't be any residue left, I rather not chance it.

If i were you, i would just stick w/ teas that naturally don't have as much caffeine. Try Rooibos tea- it also is high in antioxidants and low on caffeine

really depends on the quality of either you are choosing. Why not stop the tea completely, drink plain water, or warm water for that matter if you really want to cut out caffeine. Green tea is overall more healthy, but like anything depends on the volumes you take.

Green tea

green tea.

Green. Caffeine isn't that bad for you. It's not like you'd be chugging 5 sodas in a day. Just make sure you get GOOD tea and not the crap in a bag, or Lipton's nasty sugar water. If it has more than 3 ingredients, it's not tea.
