Question: Has anyone else heard this and does it have any merit?
Can't remember where I read it so I don't know how true it is.

I have been on a diet for the past two months, and when Im hungry I drink coffee and it reduces my appetiate,so I can understand the connection. Coffee dont make us thinner but coffee and cigarettes can slow down our appetiate.

Not coffee... they said wine. They consume more wine than anyone else in Europe and this protects them against cardiac problems...

No, coffee has nothing to do with it. Ive taken quite a few French classes and the French (like much of Europe) does not drive much. Gas is waaay more expensive over there so people walk or ride bikes more frequently. They also have small refrigerators and buy mostly fresh food everyday.

I've lived in France, so I can tell you that the French are healthier because they walk and bike more then they drive. They also eat more fresh foods, and are healthier. There are bakeries, butchers, and farmers markets regularly so that they can buy their food.

French people are thinner because they do not eat a whole lot, they eat a lot of fresh food, and on top they exercise...That's why they are thinner, they do not drink much coffee
