Tea contains tannic acid. When the water is agitated such as stirred vigorously or fast running water that puts air into the tea it causes the tannic acid to foam.

hot and cold makes foam

Ask someone who knows the answer to your question and is willing to share that with you.

Good luck, I hope this works!

Because you should be brewing the tea. What you are making is flavored kool-aid. Don't call it tea. It's probably bleach or something.

come to scotland with its natural water, no foam. water in england is recycled so you could be drinking what you pissed yesterday.

the water is too hot and scalds the tea. cool it to just below boiling and then try it.

the caffeine from the hot tea gets with the sugar and the cold water mixes up its a chemical reaction

Pour the water slower and you will get less foam

why are you using a styrofoam cup? Even if you're at work, bring a REAL cup in!! Tea and coffee taste WAY BETTER out of real cups!
