Instant Coffee 'Pods'?!

Question: I recently went to a salon that served those new instant Folgers Coffee Pods with just hot water and no brewing. They told me to use it like a tea bag and just drop it in, then wait. Is this how it's supposed to be made? The directions say to use a coffee pot but it actually tasted fine without being brewed..and was much easier!
