MOST coins are DEVALUED when they are cleaned. It would be wise to check THE REDBOOK for your coin type, year and mint before cleaning.
Silver coins can easily be cleaned by putting them in an aluminum pan, adding water to cover them 1" deep, then adding 2 tablespons of baking soda. Apply heat, and let them simmer for a while. You'll be amazed.

Coke is the best for cleaning coins, silver, and engines. Probably why its not a healthy drink. But it sure does taste good.
