Benzine in soft drinks?!


Question: i heard somewhere that the carbon dioxide bubbles react with the preservatives in the drinks to form benzine,is that true and if it is why the hell is the FDA not doing anything about it?

Whether it's true or not, the FDA is probably being paid off by the companies that make the soft drink to turn a blind eye. They seem to do that a lot. Benzene poisoning probably makes a lot of money for the health system with medication sales etc. Sorry to be cynical but the FDA don't have a very good history or reputation for actually protecting the public!

Because its an urban myth, nothing to worry about.

exactly - however, it does have sodium benzoate which isn't so hot for you either

lab rats exposed to extreme unnatural amounts of the junk in soda for a long time develop all kinds of cancer. but it's not a big deal, because you (a human being) would have to drink a TON of soda for it to have an effect. as in a constant stream of it all day every day for many years.

have you ever heard of someone dying from drinking too much soda? i haven't. it's more realistic to be worried about the caffeine, calories, and sugar content. a few sodas won't hurt you. as with everything, drink it in moderation.
