Unless you live in some third world country where the water is unsafe, buying bottled water is environmentally damaging. Plastic bottles use a lot of oil - making the bottles (petroleum is used in plastics), electricity (about 60% generated by burning coal - stripmining, the rest by oil or natural gas), transporting them (diesel fuel). Then they wind up in a landfill or beside the road or floating on a lake or river or otherwise dispoiling the landscape - because most people don't care.
I use a BRITTA FILTER PITCHER for drinking and cooking and have a re-usable plastic water bottle for hiking. I run sufficient tap water through the pitcher and transfer the water to a 3 gallon storage jug in the fridge.
I believe it was P.T. Barnum who once said: "A fool and his money are soon parted." That is my opinion of those who buy bottled water.

Where do you think all the bottles end up that your drinking from? If you don't like your cities water, invest in a filter....my water tastes just like spring fed ozarka!

I've tried a lot of bottled water and Poland Spring is king Deer park I can't even believe they call that water.
