One part vinegar to two parts water. Fill tank and brew as normal. Follow with two tanks of water run through to flush clean. This usually does a great job cleaning out the mineral deposits (white build-up) from the tank.

run it with vinegar and water that cleans it up nicely

I'd try using vinegar, which works well for other parts as well.

I would say run CLR through a cycle.

Descaler as well, you can buy it at a hardware shop.

Fill it with vinegar and run it through the pot. Then run clear water through the pot several times until you get the vinegar taste out.

Go get a couple three gallons of the cheapest white vinegar that is in the store. Poor the first gallon in and let it soak about two hours. Keep doing this till all the vinegar is gone. Pour clean water through three of four times and you should be ready to go.
