Which contains more calories - coffee whitener or milk powder?!
Now, as for that comparison between milk powder and creamer, to make it FAIR, you must compare APPLES to APPLES. The serving of creamer may seem fewer calories, but the serving is only 1 teaspoon. Whereas the comparison numbers she cites to the milk power is 1 TABLESPOON. So to be FAIR, you MUST TRIPLE the creamer numbers or cut the milk powder numbers by 2/3rds. Then, the two compare MUCH more favorably, and equally.
But MY point is, in the milk powder, the "sugars" are NATURAL sugars... from lactose. Of course if you're lactose intolerant, that's a whole other issue! But the creamer is sweetened with all sorts of sweet things which are coming under stronger scrutiny these days... just READ the labels!!!
In MY book, I'll take NATURAL any day! And, by comparison, it's a whole lot cheaper per serving, too.
Have a great day.
Answers: Consumer Reports did a study on Creamers and found that they often contain nearly or over 50% SUGARS. Of those sugars, they are mainly the "baddies"... corn syrup solids, hydrogenated... etc etc.

It depends. If the coffee whitener is flavored and or sweetened it will contain more calories than milk powder.
