As strange as it sounds:

* The British like tea partly because it was readily available from the far eastern parts of their Empire (mainly India); and also because it distinguished them from continental Europe where coffee is more popular.

* Ironically, after the Revolution many Americans turned to coffee, precisely because it distinguished them from the British!

americans have favored it since the revolutionary war. I think it just got past down

it's part of their culture

its sterotypical....i know english people who love coffee and vice versa, however im american and wont touch either one of them unless its nestea but its n/a

mmmmmmmmm,I'm English, live in Great Britain, and love coffee,I rarely drink tea!

Because the british are more layed back and don't need thast extra boost from coffee, I also love starbucks.

Different cultures ... I like beef but a lot of people in India don't. I live in the UK and prefer tea but that is because of taste ... I have tried many different coffee's and none for me are that great so I stick to tea. When I say tea I mean brown tea with milk and sugar ... not fruit tea (or breakfast - too strong)

Hey Americans Love Great Cup of Mud, Joe, and has to be Black Because you can't add Creamer or Sugar! Because if god wanted that stuff in it he had already put in your coffee.

But if you don't like Coffee had have to have Tea that cool becuase the same with coffee it would been the same way!

Will god Bless

The British drink tea because India and southern china produced it, and therefore the Brits had them available.

Tea was taxed by the Kind during the revolution, so Americans switched to coffee from Cuba and Columbia. It was un-British which only made it better.

I prefer Coffee with sweets, but tea when there are no sweets...
