Cast Iron tea set?!

Question: I purchased a cast iron tea set recently. I've been drinking from the cast iron tea cups. The inside is enameled but the outside is cast iron. I've noticed some iron residue on my lips. Is this safe? Trying to figure out if ingesting cast iron residue is safe or bad for my health.

Heat the pot on the stove (while empty) to dry it....that way it wont rust....just a low heat....

Iron isn't all that bad to ingest - its the same iron that is in total cereal (no kidding) rust on the other hand is not so good....its literally the radicals that corrode the body (which is why antioxidants get so much good press - antioxidants fight free radicals)
