I have no sugar! what can I use?!

Question: I am in England and it is 3.20 am. I am dying for a cup of tea.

There is a 24hour shop near by but I don't wan to leave alone at this time in the morning and my partner is asleep.

I have no sugar, I made one with honey but it tasted disgusting!

I hate tea without sugar!

What is a good alternative that I might have in my cupboards?
there is no sweetner either!

I used to drink my tea with tons of sugar but developed a taste for it straight. Once I started drinking it without sugar for a time, I no longer cared for it sweetened. I do however still like a twist of lemon once in awhile. I’ve heard of folks sweetening their tea by brewing it in apple juice but I’ve never tried it. It simply didn’t sound yummy to me. I’ve also read about people putting anything from vanilla or chocolate to tapioca or licorice in their tea. Nope, I haven’t tried any of these either, but they are all sweeteners people have supposedly used and are commonly in most households. I hope this helps you out some. Good luck.

If you have powdered sugar you can make a simple syrup with equal sugar and water and use that with your tea.

I know you Brits like your tea! I'm a coffee drinker, cream and sugar. I've been known to use vanilla ice cream in my coffee when I'm out of milk. Not sure if you use cream in your tea.

U can use sugar candy.

Do you have any lemon drops (candy)? put a couple into a really HOT cuppa ... How about a shot of Triple Sec? The orange flavor would go well, it has a little sugar, and the extra "kick" of the alcohol may make you forget about the sugar:)

Try brown sugar if you have any. Just use half as much.

pancake syrup

Use a peppermint. They add sweetener and flavor!
