Hey! i am trying to find the same thing like crazy.
I have just read up online that it is banned in Canada. I've also called health food stores and pharmacies and it's a no-go here. They banned it due to "liver damage"...but it's like everything - do it in moderation, and the tea makes it better for the liver anyways. I do not advise the kava pills as they may be too potent.
One of my friends is in Vegas right now so i'm trying to get her to pick some up for me (as it's legal in the US). But if she's too busy it's looking like our only option right now is to buy it online. Hope that helps a bit.
Its easiest to get off the Internet. Otherwise, I would try a health food store but they most likely only have Kava in pills.
go to Fiji... kava is their main traditional drink...
Your best bet would be at some hippie health food store, because this is a real specialty item. I don't imagine that any of the generic supermarkets or stores have it. Try to find a place that has organic stuff, health supplements, vegan snack bars, stuff like that. If not, they should be able to direct you to a place to find it. Where is local, anyways?
