Apart from coffee/tea, what else can i consume at work to keep me awake?!

Question: Jacob and quantumrift are right...WATER is the best thing to drink to keep you awake. Most of the time we feel tired during the day because we are dehydrated and sugar-crashing....
So drink water and have a healthy snack in between meals (like mixed nuts, fruit and cheese, peanut butter with celery, banana, etc). Protein is what will keep you energized as you burn more energy (even if it's mental energy) and water will keep you hydrated and refreshed.
Juice will make you sugar crash quickly...instead have the whole fruit.

Monster

Soda

red bull gets me out of my after lunch slump

Red Bull

Mountain Dew is very high in caffeine.

Pop or an energy drink.

chocolate is healthier than you think - and it can keep you awake for hours!!

Drink gallons of water.....it will keep you walking, you'll lose weight and your skin will look great!

have a snack, not a drink.

Get enough sleep, for one.

Lots of coffee, tea, and 'energy drinks' cause more problems than they cure. For one, they can all cause you to crash when the effects of the caffeine wear off. Add to that that energy drinks and sodas drinks (like Mountain Dew, etc) all contain high fructose corn syrup, which WILL cause your insulin levels to spike. When the insulin hits your blood, to aid in metabolizing the excess sugar, it will hit hard and then drop your sugar levels and cause you to get sleepy (crash). So it's a lose-lose situation if you rely on energy drinks to keep going. And EVEN worse when you start tossing junk food like donuts, pop tarts, and other 'sugary' breakfast snacks into the mix.

And if you have a problem with acne, the caffeine WILL make it worse (do a search on caffeine and acne and see what I mean).

There is nothing wrong with a cup or two of black coffee in the morning, but if you combine it with high sugar sodas and energy drinks, you're setting yourself up for a crash. And if you do not realize what is going on, you'll just keep sucking down drink after drink. The funny thing about high fructose corn syrup, is that it bypasses the mechanism in the stomach that says "I'm full" and you keep consuming them. Then you will wonder why, at the end of the day, you feel like crap and exhausted. Or overdosed on caffeine, which is worse. This ain't rocket science.

First and foremost, GET MORE SLEEP.

monster or rockstar [[both energy drinks]] :]]

Jolt ... Mountain Dew

Rock Star Monster orange juice helps.

Personally, I don't think anything can keep you awake. Getting enough sleep is the best thing and also having time to relax but with the lifestyle of today that is not possible. It sounds like caffeine helps you so if that is the case Red Bull has a high dose of it so it should work better. I tried to stay up watching movies all night with my sister and even red Bull didn't help me with that! Also chocolate is meant to give you short bursts of energy. But if you want a subsitute for tea and coffee that would mean you want to use something else instead of caffeine. You could try taking vitamins. Borrocca is meant to be a vitamin especially for energy but from experience I think it doesn't work well. You could go to the doctor and get a blood test which would indicate what your body is lacking and he could tell you what vitamins would work best for you. Otherwise you could go to the naturapath. I have gone but all the things you need to do during the day is just too time consuming and horrible. I was told to drink fresh juice everyday. I had to blend vegetables and add one apple for taste but it was disgusting. But that didn't last long because I used to get up too late to do that in the morning and then after work I would have to make that juice and then clean the whole machine. I would drink the juice and then I would be too full for dinner so I wouldn't be eating dinner. She also prescribed other natural tablets. I can't say it didn't work becase I didn't give it a chance. You could also go to a pharmacy or a natural food store and ask what they have to give you more energy and keep you awake. You haven't mentioned what you do for work but I just imagined you had an office job. If so, try walking around and getting a drink of water every hour or so. Really nothing would work as well as not working but that isn't always possible. Maybe try getting enough sleep by having a strict daily routine. Eat well - 5 serves of vegetables a day as well as two fruits a day. Plenty of fish during the week as well as three serves of red meat a week.

soda or energy drinks.
Or go to a boba place. a Thai Ice tea w/ pearl :)

Apparently apples have more caffeine than coffee...
