Answers:
It is carbonated water!. Fountain drink machines use unflavored carbonated water for all the drinks!. It is mixed with a flavored syrup from Coke or Sprite etc!.

When you only get the water instead of the soda, it is probably that the syrup has run out or was attached wrong!.

It won't harm you, it will just taste crappy!. Especially if you take a big sip expecting to get ice cold Coke and you get a mouthful of tasteless fizzy water instead :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's just carbonated water!. It only looks white because it's bubbling out of the dispenser under pressure!. It's actually clear and bubbly!. It gets mixed with the syrup to create whatever flavor of soda you're ordering!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's the carbonated water that mixes with the syrup to make the beverage!. It's safe to drink!.
