My Coke Rewards: Rhyme or reason behind codes?!

Question: My Coke Rewards: Rhyme or reason behind codes!?
Hello all,

I was wondering if anybody knows the logic/rationalle behind the strings of numbers and letters on the cardboard box flaps or under the caps!? What would "7H45" tell the people at Coke that something like "XQXQ" wouldn't!?!?

I purchased a 20oz countour bottle of Diet Coke in Obseacon, New Jersey and under the cap, one of the sets of four characters had an "NJ" in it, but I feel it's fafe to assume that it's just a coincidence!. <-(SP!?)

Thank you for your time, effort and consideration in this matter!.

Regards,
Bill "The Colonel" N!.

Answers:
They are random numbers plus letters and include a check code!. It is the presence of that code calculated from the values of the other characters that is the difference between a valid and an invalid code!.

Since getting a code is like getting a few pennies I have never put any effort into locating the check character or seeing if it is a CRC or an LRC or another of the usual suspects for validation!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Im pretty sure they are just random numbers!. Of course if your asking for their real purpose, its to get people to go to their website and try to win prizes or collect enough points to get stuff!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They are based on an algorithm, much like every other type of code, for example, cd-keys for software!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
