Question: Cola soft drink: can you taste the difference!?
Cab you taste the difference between Coca-Cola, Pepsi Cola, and a supermarket's house brand of cola drink, if you are blindfolded!? I challenge you to try it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Yes, I can tell the difference, except in rare circumstances!.

Pepsi has a less sweet taste than Coke, and Coke leaves a distinct aftertaste!. I find the fizziness of the two to be different, as well!. Pepsi seems to have a "bolder" fizz, while Coke has a "smoother" fizz!. I can't think of any words to describe that differently, so I hope you know what I mean!.

I haven't tried house brands other than Co-Op Gold, RC and Cott!. I can't tell the difference between RC and Cott, though I can tell them both from Co-Op Gold, as well as from Pepsi and Coke!. I have a hard time distinguishing Co-Op Gold from Pepsi, though!.

I like them all, though I rarely drink any of it, and highly prefer Pepsi if I am to drink any of it!. I prefer to stick to water, milk and fresh, homemade juice!. However, on the rare occasions that I do buy pop, I just refuse to pay $2 for 2L of Pepsi or Coke when I can pay $0!.89 for a 2L of the house brand!. Consider it the thriftiness that my stay-at-home mom instilled in me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

with out a doubt there is a dramatic difference between countless soda brand be them brand name or generic house!. but not all of them taste different because some of the house brands recipe are purchased from the same vendor and then have a house name applied to them!. on a side note if you taste a beverage from here in the states and then in a country out side of the Americas and Canada there is a substantial difference due to not different ingredients per say but different quality and brand!. in the case of house brands they are likely different vendors and ingredient in other country and states!. yes i can often tell the difference between almost all of them but i can't tell you all the brand names!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

To me, Coke and Pepsi are distinctively different in that Coke leaves a caramel after taste and Pepsi doesn't!. I much prefer the latter!. I rarely drink house brands as they seem to have a flat taste!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Absolutely, and I love coke!. Pepsi is "fizzier", Coke is sweeter, store brand is blander!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have and I can!. Coke has a very distinctive after-taste!. Pepsi is a little more difficult but isn't as sweet as most colas!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
