Answers:
most rubbermaid style pitchers will be fine with boiling water!. but here is my families "recipe"

1!. 2cups water boiled on the stove!.
2 steep 2 lg teabags or 4 small teabags in the pan for 5 min
3 pour into pitcher and fill the rest of the way with cold water
4 add sugar to taste and stir!.
5!. pour over ice and enjoy!.

edit: if your pitcher is dishwasher safe there should be no prob with boiling water cuz it gets a lot hotter in the dwWww@FoodAQ@Com

When I don't use my coffee pot, I make mine in the fridge!. For one gallon, I use six (6) family sized tea bags and place into my one gallon jug full of hot tap water!. I don't use boiling because I am afraid of breaking the jug!. I then put it in the fridge and let is steep for about 4-5 hours; remove the tea bags before serving!. If your pitcher is safe for boiling water, do the same only let it seep for about 10 minutes - depending upon how strong you like your tea - before removing the tea bags!.

Just pour boiling water into a pitcher and add 4 or 5 tea bags!. Let it sit for 5 minutes or so and then remove the bags and pour over ice!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
