A latte is one third espresso two thirds steamed milk while a cappuccino is 50/50!. Macchiato in itallian means stain and is used to describe two different coffee based beverages!. A caffe macchiato is one shot of espresso with one teaspoon of creme and a dollop or literally a spot of steamed milk on the top!. A latte macchiato is a cup of steamed milk with one half shot or less of espresso in it!.

Macchiato means "marked with foam" so it is just espresso with steamed foam!. like say you want a dopeo macchiato, its 2 shots of espresso in a short cup with a scoop or two of steamed foam!.!.!. not the same as a cappuccino!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
