What can I drink besides soda that's low in sugar?!

Question: What can I drink besides soda that's low in sugar!?
I've quit drinking soda all together and I drink a lot of water (it's all I'll drink at work)!.

Is gatorade/powerade a good substitute!?

I thought those Arizona ice teas and snapples were okay, but they have just as much sugar as soda's do!.

Or how about apple juice!? There a lot of sugar in that!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have a huge variety of teas, some with fruit, some mints, green, black!.!.!. the list goes on! I drink them all usually with no sugar!. they have some flavor, and no calories!. Never steep more than 4 minutes, or it gets bitter!.!.!. If you need sweetener in it, look for stevia, it is all natural and can be found in natural food stores in liquid drops or dry packets!. I also use Agave nectar to sweeten it up!. It has half the calories of sugar and does not raise your blood sugar! Only go for the organic stuff though!. I also make lemon aid with the agave nectar!. You can do fresh lemons, or lemon juice from a bottle, or the kool-aid packs if you are in a hurry!.!.!. When you measure out the agave nectar, you only use half as much as you would with sugar, I use just above a half cup of nectar, vs!. a heaping cup of sugar in a 2 qt!. pitcher of lemonaide! ( I guess if you want to you could make any koolaide with it!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Juice is not the best thing!. When I buy juice I make sure to get the juice that is natural because it has less sugar then the other kinds!. I do not drink pop either, but Milk is something I drink all the time!. It has sugar in it, but it is good for you!. Making tea at home is the best!. You can make sure how much sugar you put in it!. If you buy Snapple or Arizona ice tea you cannot control the amount of sugar you put in it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I typically only drink water, tea, juice and soymilk, Propel (only during my daily jogs), and every now and again alcohol (healthy proportions of wine and sometimes others)!. Gave up soda years ago and am much healthier for it!.

If you're looking for a good exercise beverage, I highly recommend Propel which tastes great and has very low sugar content when compared to Gatorade and other sport drinks!.

As for fruit juices (apple or otherwise), I always go for fruit juices that are totally void of any artificial sweeteners and preservatives!. If the juice's label specifically says that it does not contain artificial sweeteners, than that's a safe bet to go for!. The fructose found naturally in fruits metabolise in the body slower and better regulates insulin production, when compared to beverages with high-fructose corn syrup or other artificial sweeteners!.

Be wary of any "creative labeling" some brands try to put out!. Some brands will put the label of "all natural" on a fruit juice without any further specificity (i!.e!. Pinkberry: http://www!.nytimes!.com/2008/04/23/dining!.!.!. !.!.!.and the Seinfled episode that preceded)!. It's like the difference between a facial care product with a label saying "Not tested on animals" and another saying "Final product not tested on animals" (one distinction I found when I read the product labels at The Body Shop who don't, and the product labels at Bath & Body Works who do but don't)!.

My recommendation: look online for a local Whole Foods or Co-Op in your area, and open a dialogue with one of the store's associates about their low-sugar beverage options!. You might get some dope that just works there, but every now and again you'll find someone who is actually knowledgable on the subject and can point you to a product that meets your needs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i don't drink soda anymore either because it has so much sugar in it!. i started buying those crystal light packets and putting them in water, they are really good and they come in different flavors!. i tried drinking soda after i had stopped drinking it and it was discusting, it tasted like all i was drinking was a canful of sugar!. Crystal light is healthy so i would suggest that!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Gatorade and Powerade both have a ton of sugar in them!. So does juice!.

How about making your own iced tea!? You can add as much or as little sugar as you'd like!. Use honey instead of sugar or use half sugar and half splenda!. It'll be sweet but won't have that diety taste!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

try flavored water or low calorie juices!. Most juices, sports drinks and vitamin waters are loaded with sugar and calories so watch out! But read labels, they will tell you all you need to know about sugar content!. Don't drink anything with added sugar and limit 100% juices as well!Www@FoodAQ@Com

That's a good question!. I've tried various selzter waters and really liked one called Wintergreen!.!.!.so of course they stopped making it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

well there's lots of sugar in a lot of juices (why don't you just look at the nutrition facts on the side)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Apple juice is good!. Have you ever giving Green Tea a try!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
