I'm from the Bay Area in Northern Cali as well!. We say Soda!. I used to work with a chick who was from the Midwest and she always said Pop!. There was another chick from the South and she always said Coke--no matter if it was Pepsi, 7-Up--it was a basic general term like Soda and Pop!. She would say "What kind of Coke do you want!?"
