How do I make iced tea?!

Question: How do I make iced tea!?
my family are not big tea drinkers, so we've never made ice tea!. My husband loves iced tea, and I would like to make it for him!. His mom always made unsweeted and then let everyone put sugar or lemon in it themselves!. However he wants me to sweeten it when I make it because he likes it better that way!. I know the basics!. I boil water, then put the bags in, stuff like that!. But I would like to know how many tea bags I need to use, how long I leave them in the water, and how much sugar should I put in!? I have a gallon pitcher, so I figured I would make that much, and he likes his tea just a little sweet, not sickly sweet!.

Thank you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

ok when i make lipton iced tea for a gallon pitcher i use 4 tea bags and a cup and a half of sugar

hope this helpsWww@FoodAQ@Com

if the tea bags are the regular size like for a cup of tea, then for a gallon this is how I make it!.

In a 4 cup coffee maker, brew 8 bags of tea,
in a gallon pitcher, mix hot tea with 1 cup of sugar!.
Stir well, add water to fill pitcher,

Pour over ice in a glass and enjoy!.

Some people like sweeter tea, put start out with 1 cup per gallon to see if that is sweet enough for him!. If you buy the large bags of tea, then only two bags per gallon!.

I don't use the boiling water, due to me forgeting about it and burning the tea!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Read the box!. The box will tell you how much teabags you'll need for one gallon of water!. On the other hand, Lipton has a kind of teabag where you don't need to boil the water before mixing it together!. Check the box and see if you can just add cold water instead of hot water!. also, to know how much sugar you need for your ice tea, you need to taste it!. After you add each spoonful of sugar, taste the tea!. This is the only way to know if the flavor is right!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Easier than boiling water---- set 4-5 tea bags in a glass jar filled with 32oz of water!. Set jar in SUN and let sit for a day!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

put some ice in teaWww@FoodAQ@Com

try the original home recipe if you have mint in your garden!. Use 5 leaves per cup and boil for 10 minutes then mix in the sugar to taste, mix till it dissolves, then pour over equal amount of Ice!. You can fill a pitcher with ice and pour the hot tea over that, It cools fast and it's great!. If you don't have mint then just let regular tea simmer for 10 minutes just the same, always mix sugar in first if you are using it (I like stevia instead) and pour over ice last!. if you are using cream always add it really slow last thing and don't stir, it gives a good effect of the cream blending as it goes down into the cup!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You have 2 ways!. My way is the easiest and I dont have to wait that long!.
Boil 8 cups of water and add 5 tea bags!. After the water comes to a boil let the tea bags soak in the pot for about 15 minutes while cooling!. Pour into pitcher with ice!. Add about 1 cup to 1 1/4 cups of sugar and let finish cooling!.

The other way is to fill a glass pitcher (with lid) like a sun pitcher, add water, and add about 5-6 tea bags and set out in the sun until the water looks dark!. At least 4-6 hours!. Add same amount of sugar and bam done!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if you have lipton tea (which isnt the best kind) do not put lemon in there just dont! anyway get a cup of water and heat it (i usualy microwave it for i min ) then place the tea bag in and let sit 10 mins then do what you can to squeeze all the juice out of it (gives it more flav) then add two cups of sugar if your going to do this you must stir it for about four mins no aceptions then add one cube of ice to the cub and place in the back f the fridge for 10 mins then you are finaly ready to enjoy hope this helps alot (and i know it will) :-}Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hey no problem!

Just boil your water with 4 tea bags (2 tea bags if they are the family size)

Fill your pitcher halfway with water and add 4cups of sugar!. Stir it until you no longer see the suger!.

Remove the tea bags out of the boiling water and squeeze (with a spoon) all of the excess tea out of the bags!. (do not break the bags of course)

Pour the tea into the pitcher and stir!.

Add ice into your cup and pour over ice!.

If you think it's not sweet enough, just add more sugar till it's to your liking and then place in the fridge!

VOILA! You made tea!!

Hope this helped ya!Www@FoodAQ@Com
