What is the best coffee-water ratio when making a pot of coffee?!

Question: What is the best coffee-water ratio when making a pot of coffee!?
I used to buy my coffee every day, but since I'm trying to cut back on expenses, I'm going to start making my own coffee in the morning (gasp!)!.

The only problem is, whenever I make coffee it is disgusting!. I tried experimenting, but I'm tired of having bad coffee in the morning!.

Let's say I put in 2 (8oz) cups of water!. How many teaspoons of coffee do I need (I don't have a scoop)!? I like my coffee at the same or not quite as strong as Dunkin' Donuts!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I use 2 tablespoons for about 8 cups, if you are using a coffee pot and not the instant!. Sometimes I want it stronger!. In your case, try using 1 tablespoon for 2 cups and adjust it to your liking!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You might try a different approach to making your coffee to determine if it is your coffee maker that is your major problem with flavor!.
I use what is known as the pour over method!. to do it you can usually use your coffee pot!. Purchase a wire 'permanent' filter which should set on top of your pot (without the lid)!. next place your coffee grounds in the filter (1 tablespoon per cup)!. bring your water to a boil in a teapot or a pan (I use an electric teapot), wait a few seconds after removing from heat, then pour the water over the grounds!.
This method makes sure that the water gets hot enough to extract the coffee flavors!. If your coffee tastes like your use to, then your coffee maker isn't get the job done!. The only maker I know of that will get to the right temperature is TECHNIVORM a unit made in the Netherlands!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

most coffees have printed on their packaging 1 tablespoon of ground coffee for every 6 oz!. of water, or 1/2 cup of ground coffee for a whole ten cup pot!. I like my coffee stronger than that so I put in more than that!. If it is instant thought,I think it is about 1 teaspoon for every 6 oz of water!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
